The Kominka Preservation & Architecture Collective preserves Japan’s traditional architecture while passing on building arts and revitalizing rural communities.
We are a not-for-profit company (一般社団法人)
Recently, temples, shrines, and other related structures are being torn down as rural areas become more and more depopulated.
Jyousen Temple is 372 years old and is scheduled to be torn down in December 2024 unless it can be relocated.
A detailed estimate of costs to relocate and rebuild the temple is available. (Note: The estimate does not include the extensions that were added to the temple as it is thought to be best that the temple return to its original form.)
