Note: All components of the structure - except for the earthen walls - can be preserved and reused, provided they are in good condition.

Chigiri Minka is 70 years old.

​

The minka has a few large zelkova posts and the rest are cypress. Beams are pine.

 

Building Area and Floor Space Summary:

• 1st Floor Area: 206.09㎡ (62.3 tsubo)

• 2nd Floor Area: 132.49㎡ (40.07 tsubo)

• Total Floor Area: 338.58㎡ (102.42 tsubo)

• Building Area: 209.39㎡ (63.3 tsubo)

 

Floor Plan Details:

• 1st Floor Layout: Includes a living room, kitchen, entrance hall, work area, bathroom, toilet, washroom, and a wide veranda (hiro-en).

• Traditional Rooms: The plan features multiple Japanese-style rooms (washitsu), including spaces designated for Buddhist altars and alcoves (tokonoma).

• Construction Notes: Certain areas are noted for having thresholds and lintels (shikii/kamoi), as well as竿縁 (sao-buchi) ceilings.

• Structural Observations: The documentation notes that some柱 (columns) and梁 (beams) are predicted, and includes details on wall types (e.g., earthen walls, large walls).

• The documents include cross-sectional views (scale 1/100).

• Reference to the "nakadori" (central passage) indicates the absence of a specific beam structure (tenbin).
