The Kominka Collective works to preserve Japan’s traditional architecture by rescuing at-risk structures and giving them new life through sustainable disassembly, relocation, and adaptive reuse.
We are a not-for-profit company.
一般社団法人 Kominka Collective

Toyohashi Kominka is about 100 years old and has an absolutely extraordinary beam structure - you can get a sense from the video. This minka will be torn down in September, and we are most keen to find someone who would like to have the frame and any other parts and disassembled and relocated with or without shoji and various other furnishings. The price varies depending on if we do work on the structure here in Japan or if it is sent as is. Please contact us at contact@kominkacollective.com for more information.
