Noyori Minka

The Noyori property comprises two traditional timber buildings, both approximately 70 years old. The structures retain their original timber frames and a range of traditional architectural elements. With the exception of the earthen walls, components that remain in good condition can be carefully preserved and reused.

Floor Area

• First floor: 137.40 m² (41.5 tsubo / approximately 1,479 sq ft)

• Second floor: 99.37 m² (30.05 tsubo / approximately 1,070 sq ft)

• Total floor area: 236.77 m² (71.6 tsubo / approximately 2,548 sq ft)

The first floor contains six washitsu, or Japanese-style rooms, together with a kitchen and dining area, bathroom, washroom, toilets, entrance hall, engawa, and storage areas. Washitsu 4 and 5 feature sloped ceilings that reveal the character of the roof structure.

Floor Areas

• First floor: 58.70 m² (17.75 tsubo / approximately 632 sq ft)

• Upper loft level: 39.74 m² (12.02 tsubo / approximately 428 sq ft)

• Total floor area: 98.44 m² (29.77 tsubo / approximately 1,060 sq ft)

The first floor includes a traditional earthen-floor area, or doma, together with one Japanese-style room, one Western-style room, storage areas, and two separate entrances. Stairs lead to a low upper loft or attic level beneath the roof.

 

The plans, dated March 21, 2026, document the buildings in their current condition and include floor plans and cross-sectional drawings at a scale of 1:100.
