_edited.jpg)

Structure Details
The Hakusan Shrine Worship Hall (Haiden) is a single-story traditional shrine structure with a broad central worship space, smaller rooms toward the rear, and a projecting central section at the back. The principal entrance is located at the center of the front elevation.
The available floor-plan information indicates an overall floor area of approximately 72.87 m² (784 sq ft / 22.04 tsubo). The preliminary plan records a frontage of approximately 9.1 meters and a depth of approximately 8.64 meters.
The interior is composed primarily of a large Japanese-style space of approximately 49.69 m² (30 tatami), together with three smaller rooms measuring approximately 13.25 m² (8 tatami) and 4.97 m² (3 tatami) each for the two smaller rooms.
Preliminary Architectural Drawings
A preliminary schematic reconstruction has also been prepared from the available floor-plan information to help illustrate the building's overall form and proportions. For this drawing, the principal frontage has been standardized at 9,000 mm, corresponding to approximately five traditional ken bays, with the façade divided into five approximately 1,800 mm bays.
Using the proportions of the available plan, the reconstructed overall depth is approximately 8,545 mm, consisting of a principal front section of approximately 5,400 mm and a central rear projection of approximately 3,145 mm.
The front elevation illustrates the central entrance and the decorative dragon and lion carving associated with the entrance area, while the plan shows the relationship between the principal worship space, side rooms, and central rear projection.
Openings and Building Elements
The preliminary documentation also records several original sliding openings. Exterior openings include three two-panel sliding units measuring approximately 1,820 × 1,200 mm, one measuring 2,730 × 2,300 mm, and one measuring 3,185 × 2,300 mm. An interior two-panel sliding opening is recorded at approximately 3,185 × 2,000 mm.
The recorded floor height is approximately 565 mm, with an interior ceiling height of approximately 2,425 mm.
Important Note on Dimensions
These drawings and dimensions should be understood as preliminary reference information rather than measured construction drawings. The schematic reconstruction was developed from the available plan and photographs, and the documentation specifically notes that on-site measurement will be necessary to confirm the precise positions and dimensions of columns, openings, partitions, floor and roof heights, roof curvature, and other architectural details.
